INTERNAL REFRESHER TRAININGS AT MIMOSA HEALTH CENTRE

The third cornerstone of the Tifulumire Health Program focuses on the “Third Delay” — delays in receiving adequate care. Patients may reach a health facility on time but still experience delays because of shortages of essential medicines, equipment, safe blood, or trained and motivated health personnel. Slow triage, poor coordination, and weak referral systems can also contribute to delays and poor service delivery.

One of the initiatives Tifulumire Health Program undertakes to address this challenge is supporting continuous professional development among healthcare workers.

Meet Maxwell Kamwana, one of the Directors of Tifulumire Health Program and a Medical Assistant at Mimosa Health Centre in Mulanje, conducting an internal refresher training with medical personnel at the facility.

These trainings are part of the Tifulumire Health Program’s efforts to strengthen healthcare services and promote quality, timely, and effective service delivery in clinics and hospitals.
